Frequently Asked Questions

What is Chronosinks and how does it work?

Chronosinks is a semi-permanent tattoo ink made from organic, plant-based ingredients. It sits in the top layer of skin (no needles) and develops from a faint tint to a deep blue-black over 12–36 hours. It then fades naturally as your skin exfoliates—typically in about 8–15 days—similar to Inkbox and Prime Ink.

How long does it last?

Most designs last around 8–15 days. Longevity varies by placement, skin chemistry, aftercare, and friction. High-wash/high-rub areas (hands/fingers) fade faster; low-friction spots last longer.

Is it safe? What’s inside?

Our formula is plant-based and needle-free. As with any topical, patch-test 24 hours before use. Do not apply on broken or irritated skin. If redness or irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a professional—especially if you have sensitivities to botanical dyes.

What color will it develop to?

Expect a blue-black tone. Immediately after application it appears light; full depth shows within 12–36 hours as the ink interacts with your skin.

How do I apply it?

Clean and fully dry the area (no lotions/oils). Use a stencil or freehand. Follow the kit timing, then rinse residue gently. Keep the area dry for several hours; the color develops later.

Aftercare tips for best longevity

Keep dry for the first 6–8 hours. Over the next days, minimize exfoliation and friction, and avoid hot tubs/chlorine. Pat dry after showers and moisturize lightly. Oil-based cleansers and scrubs will shorten wear time.

Water, sweat, and workouts?

Once developed, the design is shower- and sweat-resistant. For best results, avoid soaking or swimming during the first 24 hours; chlorine can speed fading.

Can I remove it early?

Yes—use warm showers, gentle exfoliation, and oil-based cleansers daily until it lightens. Avoid harsh chemicals or aggressive scrubbing.

Who shouldn’t use it?

Do not use on broken/irritated skin. Patch-test if you have sensitivities to plant dyes. If you’re under medical care, pregnant, or nursing, consult a professional before use.

How is this different from permanent tattoos?

No needles, no permanent pigments, no lifetime commitment. Chronosinks binds temporarily within the top layer of skin and fades naturally in about 8–15 days.
